FAQs
FAQs
Is Nerium (oleander) safe to grow at home?
It must be handled with real caution - every part of the plant, including the sap, is extremely toxic if ingested and can be fatal to humans and pets. Site it away from children's play areas and pet access, wear gloves when pruning, and never burn the trimmings, since the smoke is toxic too.
How tall does it grow?
It can reach 2-6 metres, though regular pruning keeps it compact and bushy in a garden or hedge setting.
Is it good for a pooja garden?
Yes, Nerium is traditionally used for pooja and prayer offerings, though the toxicity caution still applies to handling and placement.
Does it tolerate pollution and heat?
Yes - it's commonly planted on road medians and tolerates vehicle pollution, heat, and some drought well.
