Small evergreen tree whose pods yield cacao beans - the raw ingredient for chocolate. Grows well in partial shade under taller canopy.

• Fertilizer: ~100g N (220g urea), 40g P2O5 (200g rock phosphate), 140g K2O (235g muriate of potash) per year - one third in May-June, two-thirds in September-October.
